Minneapolis, MN, November 11, 2004 – Copier Careers, a Minneapolis based niche recruiting firm serving the Document Imaging Industry for over 20 years, published their third Sales Manager Salary Survey. Results for employers should be very eye opening in that 97% of Sales Managers who participated in the survey are readily open to other opportunities.
Sales Managers in the Copier Industry reported in our annual survey that although salaries have increased, so have territories and responsibilities resulting in a longer workweek and more stress. An apparent increase in cutbacks for non-cash rewards has also contributed to decreased job satisfaction. Plus, Sales Managers indicated they are looking for other opportunities both in and out of the industry. Since 91% of Sales Managers identify bonus opportunities as the most important aspect of the job, the effect of the belt tightening in this area is apparent. Even though employers may be overlooking this effect because of the increased salaries, this should put some fear in them about the stability of their Sales staff. However, we also sense some fear in Sales Managers since they are not frequently making the move to a new position and most are actually staying put. So, even though they may be hesitant to make the move, they are clearly open to new opportunities. Visit copiercareers.com/survey for the entire salary survey study to learn more.
Sales Managers answered this survey online anonymously. They just logged on to CopierCareers.com and answered a series of questions related to their particular job description. Copier Careers then compares results from last year’s study and industry expert Scott Cullen writes and publishes the survey in ENX magazine. Please look for our next survey to be published in the Spring, 2005.
