As we start 2022, we’re reflecting on the Copier Channel’s successes and setbacks with our 2021 Year-End Update. In our earlier 2021 Mid-Year Update, we highlighted the whiplash employers were experiencing as they transitioned from shutdowns to resurging markets. These challenges have only intensified in the past six months!
Even though the U.S. economy rebounded in 2021, the long tail of the COVID-19 pandemic is still wreaking havoc. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that professional and business services added 90,000 jobs this November alone, but it wasn’t great news for the Copier Channel, where employers have been struggling all year to fill already-open positions.
After a year of disruption due to a worldwide pandemic, the 2021 trend line is going up. When COVID-19 upended everyday life and work, the Copier Channel faced a turbulent economy and a rapidly changing business environment.
Last month we discussed the most common ways we’re seeing employers sabotage their own hiring process in the current job market. So we were curious to hear if some of the logistics of hiring changed during the past year’s pandemic. We had a record-breaking 20,862 votes this month!
