The Onsite Production Print Technician in Portland, ME, provides high-level technical support for staff and customers, focusing on the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of production-grade print equipment and network-connected devices. This role ensures seamless daily operations by managing hardware installations, print controller configurations, and providing prompt troubleshooting for electro-mechanical and connectivity issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Support: Diagnose and repair hardware, peripheral equipment, and electro-mechanical devices. Troubleshoot software errors, print workflows, and connectivity issues.
• Installation & Configuration: Install and network multifunction printers and print controllers, ensuring proper IP setup, print queue creation, and hardware integration.
• Customer Engagement: Provide operational training to end-users and Key-Operators, building strong onsite relationships and supporting product demonstrations.
• Operational Support: Coordinate with Sales and Technical Operations for escalations and site expansions. Assist the National Technical Assistance Call Center (NTACC) with remote requests as time permits.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3–5 years in technical service, specifically supporting production printers.
• Technical Skills: Expert hardware/electro-mechanical troubleshooting; proficiency in Windows and macOS.
• Networking: Solid understanding of LAN fundamentals, IP addressing, DHCP, and device connectivity.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills with a strong focus on customer service.
• Physical/Logistical: Valid driver’s license and the ability to lift, move, and install heavy office equipment.
