Our client is seeking an experienced MSP Sales Executive to join their growing team in Morris County, NJ. This role is dedicated to driving growth through the sale of Managed IT Services (MSP), Cybersecurity solutions, and VoIP/Unified Communications to small and mid-sized businesses.
Please Note: This position requires a minimum of 2 years of direct sales experience specifically working for an MSP or a very similar IT services provider. Candidates without a background in MSP or closely related IT services sales will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- New Business Development: Sell Managed IT Services (MSP), Cybersecurity solutions, and VoIP services to new clients.
- Lead Generation: Prospect, qualify, and develop opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, and inbound leads.
- Discovery & Strategy: Conduct discovery calls to identify client pain points, business needs, and specific technical environments.
- Solution Presentation: Present complex IT solutions in a clear, business-focused manner that emphasizes ROI and security.
- Proposal Collaboration: Work closely with technical and leadership teams to develop accurate proposals and pricing models.
- Full Cycle Ownership: Manage the entire sales journey from initial lead generation to the final contract close.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline data, and forecasting within the CRM.
- Market Awareness: Stay current on industry trends, emerging cybersecurity risks, and competitive offerings.
Required Qualifications (Must-Have)
- Industry Experience: Minimum 2 years of sales experience specifically within an MSP, IT services provider, or a high-level technology services firm.
- Product Knowledge: Proven track record selling Managed IT Services, Cybersecurity (MDR, EDR, SOC, compliance, etc.), or VoIP/UCaaS solutions.
- SMB Fluency: A strong understanding of SMB IT environments and common technical hurdles.
- Quota Achievement: Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding defined sales targets.
- Consultative Approach: Strong skills in discovery-based, consultative selling rather than transactional sales.
- Executive Presence: Comfortable and effective when speaking with business owners, C-suite executives, and key decision-makers.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC 2, NIST, etc.).
- Experience selling high-value contracts with Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR).
- A foundational IT or technical background (highly valued but not required).
