Our client is seeking an industry experienced Controller for their company located in Pensacola, FL. The ideal candidate will oversee the business and financial operations of the organization. This individual will monitor the organization’s economic performance and work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and ownership team to financially advise internal departments. This individual will also create frequent financial reports to display economic standing of the organization. Role can evolve into Chief Financial Officer. CPA not required at the time of hire, but goal would be to obtain it.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions
  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
  • Coordinating activities of external auditors
  • Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
  • Managing the budget process
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
  • Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
  • Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
  • Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field
  • 5+ years’ of experience in finance or accounting
  • Strong quantitative and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
